How a Renovation can Change the Vibe of your Store

Retail space is expensive, so if your store does not make maximise use of the space you should rethink the structural elements. If the layout of your store is not conducive to a great shopping experience you may need to consider renovations. You are after a smooth and hassle-free shopping experience for your clients. Generally this means space and room to move. If your store is cramped and has lots of obstructions, it is unlikely that interior design alone will create the look and feel you are after. Consider renovating to create an exciting new vibe to attract customers.

If the current store layout is difficult to navigate you definitely need a renovation to create a spacious and modern vibe in your store. Renovations don’t come cheap so it’s important that you do it right the first time. Professionals like www.tuprojects.com are very experienced in shop renovations and can offer you expert advice to help maximise your shop space and improve the customer experience.

The structure of your store will place constraints on what is possible. Things like columns, stairs, windows, exits and the height of the ceiling are all structural features that will affect the flow of your store and the space available for use. You should consider a renovation to remove or modify the obstructive elements in your store.

The layout of your floor is what will facilitate or impede the flow of customer traffic in your store. Easy circulation is important. Frustrated shoppers will exit your store quickly. Research also shows that customers, both male and female, that are bumped from behind, leave a store far more quickly. So, any poorly placed obstructive elements need to be addressed during a renovation of your store.

Your floor plan will be very much guided by the type of products you are selling. Again, seek expert advice on this. Clear movement of traffic in your store is extremely important.

A good logical layout is the straight plan that places items on shelving to either side and allows your customers to traverse from the front to the back of your store. This is uncomplicated and helps reassure the shopper, they know what to expect.

If you are trying to create an intimate vibe, consider renovations that create curved shapes in walls and corners. You can also include circular fixtures. This is more expensive, but it can create a really inviting environment.

One of the main advantages of a store renovation is that it will create a whole new look giving your store a fresh face, a reason for shoppers to come on in and see what you have done. A renovation that is done well will be very beneficial to your business. And the good thing is you don’t have to do everything at once. You can stage your renovations into affordable stages.

It is important to do your homework before beginning a renovation. Find out what your local council regulations are and speak with the owner of the building.

  1. When I was one of the many shoppers who frequent malls, I did not really seem to notice the layout and design of the stores. Now that I am part of SM, I am more aware of the impact of visual marketing. The overlook layout and ambiance really have effect on shoppers.

  2. nice tips above!! Most of the shops I know has the simpler version of their stores. those with have fun shelves are like the ones i see in the malls like accessory shop. renovation always gives a lot of that good vibe feeling.
